Name on Title deed

Hi everyone,
I had a mortgage ten years ago but my house was repossessed four years ago and I ended up having a shortfall of 140,000 which the bank has not been asking for until now.
My question is I married now and we just bought a house. The mortgage is in my wife's name but I paid for everything like deposit, refurbishment etc. I am not sure if I can put my name on the property register as the sole owner or joint owner for two reasons. 1. I am not the one who got the mortgage. 2. Will the bank who I owe the above money come after me and is there a chance that they can repossess this new house because of that old "debt" or as they say.
Please help!!
