House Purchase - Consent to let

Hi All,
Im currently in the process of putting an offer on a house, however there is a possibility I will be leaving the UK in 6 months for around a year.
The property is £170k and I have a 20% deposit.
Are there any specific mortgage lenders who are more open to the idea of consent to let? (Especially after 6 months or less in the property).
I don't want a BTL at this stage as the move may not happen, but just wanted some advice.
Thanks for any help.

How long are you likely to be away? We have easily obtained CTL on our previous house with the Cheshire but that was 6yrs ago. Our current house we got a years CTL with no extra charges from HSBC I believe after the first year it's more difficult but we only requested a further 6 weeks as we were just about to clear the mortgage.
If you can manage 25% deposit you may get more options AND that's what you'd need for BTL
I'd suggest chatting to a broker but remember CTL is never guaranteed and banks change their criteria & charges ofteb0 -
When you apply for your mortgage, you'll probably be asked a question about whether there you are aware of any way your circumstances or income might change I'd have thought this is the sort of thing you'd have to mention.
Would it not be safer to delay the purchase until you're sure what's happening or if you do go abroad until you get back?0 -
Some lenders wont offer CTL that soon.

Hi,
The original lender was Accord (YBS broker) but the vendor of the first house i was going to buy pulled out.
But i dont have to stay with accord if an alternaitve prodvider is more likely to off CTL.
I would be leaving in Sept/Oct for 12months minimum, if longer i would consider selling the house.
Basically i want to buy now as rates are good, prices are still rising slowly (up north) and i need somewhere to live0
