struggling to get a mortgage for ex-council house with local occupancy clause (sec157

Hi,
I'm in the process of hopefully buying an ex-council property as a buy to let. However I'm struggling to find a lender because the property has a local occupancy covenant on it (section 157).
I am local so I'm eligible to buy, but they won't lend.
I'm gutted because I love the house and was hoping to live there myself in the future.

Does anyone have a suggested lender or broker who i could approach?
Many thanks

The way I see it is that you may be local so can probably get a standard mortgage to live in it yourself but as a you want BTL then there is the very real danger of that condition not being met hence the reluctance/refusal to provide a BTL mortgage.
