Mortgage Broker - Glasgow

Would anyone on the site be able to recommend me a decent mortgage broker in the Glasgow area? I havent much of a clue about which mortgage is best but thinking offset may be the way to go but would like to be more certain than just my own assumption.

My situation is im moving to a new build house and have a particularly low 1.25% tracker mortgage with Alliance & Leicester, it ended up on that rate after a fix ended in 2008 and ive just left it like that as it was saving £200+ a month.

Obviously rates are only going to go one way, im kinda stuck between porting the existing 1.25% tracker (boe +0.75) to the new house knowing ill need to review that within a year probably or whether to just do something about it now and tie down a reasonable rate before the current rates disappear.

I could offset around 2/3rd of the mortgage I require which is making me think 2 to 3 yr fixed offset as id still like access to money if I needed it rather than paying more off the existing balance.

Reading comments on other threads I think a broker is the way to go but ive no idea how to get a reliable one or how much they cost, any info appreciated

We are half way through our application process, just waiting on NW doing the valuation and then giving us the final decision.

We are also buying a new build, we used First Mortgage, they are on High Street. Their new build manager is Emma Gillespie, she has been great for us.

They are all of market and no fee (they are getting that from the house builder).

Keep going, you will get there!

Leaving behind a 1.25% tracker might suggest a psychiatrist is more in need than a mortgage broker!

Think carefully before making that decision.
    I am a Mortgage Broker

Yip I agree , hence the question as I'd pay not a lot of interest where as I currently pay £800 a year in interest even on that 1.25% tracker with a balance of 66k on the latest statement.

So if I can offset that by 2/3 rd and add a few hundred pound a month I'd be paying no interest within 3 yr fix offset mortgage v the tiny amount of interest I get off those savings
