how to make a complaint to fca?

Options
Hi, I'm hoping for some advice on reporting a catalogue company to the fca. I have been going back and forward with them for over a year now as i am experiencing financial difficulty. They are being very difficult, as expected, but i have continued to make the payment I advised i could (although this no where near meets the minimum payment)
As they continued to be difficult i requested with great advise from members of these forums, a copy of my original signed credit agreement and a full breakdown of my account including any interest and charges.
I received a blank generic agreement which did not contain any of my personal details, apr or interest rates. It was also unsigned.
I advised that they had not complied with my request under the consumer credit act 1974.
They replied again saying what they had supplied me with was in fact correct as it was a current copy of my agreement including any changes.

I have now been advised to report them but I am unsure of what or how to do this.

Does anyone have any advice on how to go about reporting them to the fca, the
procedures and how it works once a report/complaint has been made?
Thanks

Theres a for for consumers but usually best to write an email with full details of your complaint and attached evidence to consumer.queries@fca.org.uk

a lot of the points you need to make were included here.

Usually not a lot. You dont get to hear outcomes for individual complaints. Sometime may ask for further info but mostly you hear not a lot. Even if you dont hear anything the complaints still count as the more they get the more likely they are to investigate and act against the company as their regulator.

yeah its not like the ombudsman where you get a result for your case. And often the decisions are bizarre.

In the end the FCA have the bigger teeth though and will take account of whether the firm is acting lawfully or fairly according to their rules. If not they can fine them or even take away their licence which the fos cant do.

  • Ok. I had this crazy idea that in order to pursue a complaint I'd have to face them as if i was taking them to court. OTT I know!
