At least you've managed to get an interview, I've been chasing 2 of my local branches for over a month, keep getting promised call backs and never get them.

Complained about it over the phone last time I called, just said they are very busy and they'll call me back when they get round to it, with a rather uninterested demeanor.

Trying to get my ex removed from the mortgage, looking like she's going to be on there till the 2 year fix expires and I can get a broker involved.

I think most people would go to a broker as they can assess the majority of the market. I for certain would and have this time contacted my broker for quotes but specifically in this instance when you’re stuck in a fixed mortgage your only option is to port it unless a better deal elsewhere out ways your fee for early repayment.

Thanks a lot for everyone contribution so far.

Sorry to hijack the OP’s post but I have another question for anyone already been through this interview with your lender.

What happens is you use your credit card for most of your monthly spends (Cashback, Rewards schemes) and pay your credit card off each month in full?
Will they then want to see credit card statements?

Lenders pick up credit card data from the credit file - they don't need statements.
    I am a Mortgage Broker

That’s good because I’d hate to try and explain every line on my credit card statement.

Especially having just been on my honeymoon which until we got back we hadn’t even thought about potentially moving house so it was no expense spared, but always paid off in full each month.
