Hi there,
I received a letter through the post at the weekend from this company demanding £60 for overstaying by 30 Mins in a free car park. The car park in question is the site of the new M&S on the Lisburn Road/the old Co-Op car park.
I've read mixed advice online about whether to ignore or not. They obtained my details from the DVLNI. Has anyone else experienced this and should I pay?
Thank You.

DO NOT PAY.
Like all private car park notices in Northern Ireland, you can ignore.
Please just ignore.0 -
Thanks saver buyer for your quick reply. The advice online says that their claim would not stand because their charge is not commensurate to their losses (whi is nothing! It's a free car park).
Thanks again0 -
Also, they don't know who was driving and parked there, and have no right to demand that information of you (hope you have not volunteered it).
It's the driver they would have to charge, not the registered keeper of the vehicle.
This differs from real fines (police etc) where you have a legal obligation to disclose who the driver was.0 -
I am on my 4th threatening letter from UKPC and having researched on the internet, I am ignoring them all. They will eventually give up as in NI they need to know who the driver was and have no way of proving it. Ignore ignore ignore - they will go away eventually.....so I am told.0
