help to buy

Hi just wondered if help to buy schemes are different in each part of the country.
We applied to the help to buy south west after we got a mortgage agreed in principle and we found a house and had offer accepted.

Filled in help to buy form with broker and he sent it off last week.

Had an email today saying it was declined as we don't earn enough! Also they don't take child tax credits or child benefit into account even though they ask for it on forms but they take into account working tax credit but we don't have that as we earn too much.

The ones who had there atp did they take into account your child tax credits and child benefit?
Absolutely gutted tried not to get hopes up. Thank you

Are you talking about Help To Buy Mortgage Guarantee (2nd hand houses) or Help To Buy Equity Loan (brand new houses)?

Did your broker not fill in the spreadsheet that tells you whether or not you would be accepted? It takes 5 minutes so he should have really done this first. Then you would have known that those benefits wouldn't be accepted.

It's not Help to Buy South West who have stipulated this, it's the government. Which means it will be the same for all of the various Help to Buy branches.
