CCJ in my name that isn't mine

Years ago? Does that mean the original creditor used the wrong name?
Is the CCJ issued in your name?
If so, the only thing wrong here seems to be the title. Mr and not Miss. I don't know how significant that is.
Presumably you received court documents addressed to Mr Tina Jones and chose to ignore them because you're Miss Tina Jones? Thus, the CCJ was issued by default because there was no defence.
Sorry I think I misunderstood what you were saying - the CCJ isn't mine so its the wrong name, yes. The title is incorrect insofar as I'm a Miss and the CCJ says Mr - however it's correct in that it is actually intended for Mr T Jones, they've just got the wrong T Jones.
It's very confusing I know, they've been informed that they are getting in touch with the wrong person, and we've had to send off birth certificates etc but I'm just wondering what, if any action I now need to take.0 -
I've received no court documents but this may be because my dads opened the letters addressed to Mr Tina Jones (as he knew they would be for him) whilst I've been away at University...
I'm not sure the title makes any difference. The CCJ claim form, here, doesn't even ask for one. Presumably the online equivalent is similar.
I think titles are just for courtesy. I try to avoid them.
Are Mr Tina Jones and Mrs Tina Jones the same person? An interesting legal point.0 -
So.... Basically the CCJ is technically mine and there's nothing I can do about it?0
-
Surely that's not the case - I was around 3 years old when the 'contract' between my dad and the company was set up so there's no possible way the could be attributed to me....0

You wouldn't of been on the electoral roll at 3 years old, so how did they obtain your name? What type of agreement is this for? i.e. loan, credit card, mobile phone contract, etc.0

But some first names can be Unisex and so wouldn't be clear . So why would they not be able to assume , especially when the father was running the account was happy enough to see mail come through addressed incorrectly?..
I once had an issue with an old egg savings account that was never noticeable on statements sent out - it just looked like odd spacing.. in that they thought my account was in the name of "MrS A ...." rather than "Mr S A ...."...rizla_king wrote: »In that case the CRA here
is telling you a complete load of bullsheet.
Do they think you've had a sex change or something? Does the sex of the person who the CCJ is against not matter when determining whether its you or not whose file it should go on.
The CRA have cocked up here and put it on your file when they shouldnt have.
What CRA is being this dimwitted?0 -
My name is a unisex name so that's probably one of the problems.
Exactly, we have disputed that it can't be me for that reason, I wasn't even on the electoral roll then. The letters never used to come in my name, it's only been the last few years, so we assumed it was just an administrative problem and wasn't actually affecting me... Until the ccj has appeared on my credit report, and came and was addressed to Mr Tina Jones (obviously this isn't my real name.)
The ccj is for a utility bill.0
