Mortgage broker - deals provided by high street providers or not

After you've gone through a broker, and they found a deal for you. Was the best deal a high street provider or a non-high street one?
Please state the name of the mortgage provider, and mortgage broker used.
Is is true that best deals are provided by non-high street providers? I know it depends on your circumstances.

You tend to find non-high street lenders deal with niche stuff such as buy to let, self-employed for one year and similarly unusual cases.
High street lenders tend to dominate the vanilla sub 60% residential sector, with some concentrating on lending flexibility rather than rate.
Brokers look primarily at who will do a particular case, then we worry about the rate we can get afterwards. We're no longer here to get you 0.1% cheaper than you can find for yourself.I am a mortgage broker.
