Get some skinny hybrid slick tyres that will take a good pressure if you haven't already, this makes a huge difference. I went from whatever knobbly crap was on the bike to 1.75" Bronx hybrids that took 45psi last year, which was a bit of an improvement, but last week put 1.5" Kenda city slicks that take 65psi on and gained another 3mph average.
Also have your crank bearings replaced if there's any question of their condition (play in the pedal axle); I was losing a stupid amount of energy (and late starts at work) to this and thought I was just 'under the weather' or something for ages!0
