returning chilled food?

Hey,
Just a quick question, which should probably be placed in the food and groceries forum but thought I might get more responses here...
So today I stupidly picked up the wrong milk at Tesco - sweetened soya milk rather than the unsweetened which I have in my porridge as am diabetic and would rather not have the extra sugar. The packaging on both is the same and they were right next to each other so was an easy mistake but damn annoying. I couldn't go back today but if I were to go back into store tomorrow with my receipt do you think they might exchange it? I know they are not supposed to but is it even worth a try? Obviously it's no huge cost if I can't but still wondering if they might do it on the basis of goodwill. But I don't want to embarrass myself by asking if it's a completely outlandish request.
Has anyone ever tried to do similar with a chilled/fridge product? Successfully or not?
Thanks!

No shop is obliged to change a product because the purchaser made a mistake, but they may choose to go beyond what the law says they have to do for a goodwill guesture. Because the chain of refridgeration has been broken, they will be binning the product, so it will represent an actual financial loss to them.
If I was in this position, I would write it off to experience and try to give the milk away to a neighbour, but that's only my opinion.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
