Can Debt collector attach other debts to my payment ?

i have a credit card defaulted 4 years ago and had other one were on default since 2007 but cleared from credit report after 6 years. Both credit was chasing by same debt collector Lowell.

Now i want to pay currently defaulted payment in full so that i can look for a better credit report for renting and other stuff.

I am planning to pay this full via online with my reference number but i am afraid if they bring previous debt forward and attach to this one. bear in mind, i know nothing about these stuff , that is why i came to you guys. So if this is a silly question, please forgive me.
