Abbey/Santander Credit Check

I'm in the process of a house purchase and my mortgage has been approved by Abbey and the offer letter has been received.

I have checked my three credit reference agency reports and can see Abbey/Santander completed a search on Experian only.

If Abbey decide to complete a second search pre-completion, will they use Experian or could they go to the other credit reference agencies?

Santander use both Experian and Equifax.

Understood. If Santander used Experian only for the first check, are they likely to stick with Experian if they run a second check?

Lenders can and do use both.

Is there something on the other file that is concerning you?

I understand the dangers but i have no choice and will need to do a cash transfer on one of the cards which is not on the Experian report.

To me it would seem strange to use a different CRA for the second search?

It seems wholly sensible to search both at different times to ensure any changes in financial circumstances during the application process are uncovered.

Are you saying you do not have enough cash to complete the purchase without drawing some from a credit card?
