Homebase sofas - recommended or not?

Has anyone any experience of buying sofas from Homebase?


I saw nice leather Schreiber sofas in our local Homebase and if I order online tomorrow I'd still get the 15% off but I am wary as I know that Homebase, Argos etc. don't have a brilliant reputation when it comes to certain items.


As it's a Schreiber sofa, would this make you feel a bit more confident in purchasing it?

Schreiber is just a brand name owned by argos , could be made by anybody

I have had a leather recliner sofa from Argos for 5 years so far and it still looks new and works perfectly. I do leather clean it every couple of months.

Thank you for your replies, it's so difficult to know what to do, and I need to decide today to get the £165 off! It's such a big investment and one I hope would last for many years. When you read reviews, they're very mixed.

if they offer free returns then go for it, personally i would buy from a shop as i like to try and buy on things like sofas and beds, does a homebase or argos have the one you are after on display ? my local homebase has about 3 sofas on display

I went to our local Homebase yesterday, 15 minutes before they closed. They had about five different sofas, I saw two lovely leather ones, sat on them and thought they would be perfect, but they were kicking everyone out. It wasn't long to make a decision on such an expensive item and part of me is thinking 'well, I can cancel under the distance selling regulations if I decide they're not suitable (I know it's called something different now) as delivery wouldn't be until March. But I don't know how easy it would be to do that. If I don't order by today on their website, I wouldn't get the £165 off.


I really don't know what to do, I'm not great at making decisions at the best of times! lol

Customer return for half the cost says "Large and Large" so presume 2x 3 seaters ? , not sure if they are local to you, but there are some real life images that may help your decision

Thank you for that deano, but unfortunately I would have to have a medium and a large as I couldn't fit two large sofas in my living room.
