Has anyone tried the free local shop pick-up service delivery instead of the normalAmazonfree one which is anything from 1 week or more?

nobody can give you an answer. there are so many variables with Amazons choice of carrier/despatch methods
They use RM for the post offices and couriers for the other drops offs
  • I've used the amazon locker service in the past - when they first started it was free and there were some lockers in the shop across the road from my office so it was easy to pop over to collect things and not worry about having to wait in for a delivery. I quite liked the service.

I don't use it any more because you have to pay for it and there are a lot of items that you can't have delivered to lockers.

If it is to a Collect Plus location then it will be Yodel doing the delivery to the shop as they own Collect +.

Amazon lockers vary, it used to be TNT around here now its Amazon Logistics.

Post Offices will be Royal Mail.

I use the Post Office collection option - pretty good except quite a lot of orders seem to be rejected as too big when the reason they are too big is Amazon's habit of over-packing :(

I think its more to do with costs. I assume Amazon have negotiated a rate with RM/POC and this rate is for smaller items.
