£5 off coupon (and much much more) in Sainsbury's mag

This is really only useful if you have a Tesco/Asda that takes other supermarkets' product vouchers.

The current issue of Sainsbury's Magazine (£1.20) has, among other things, a coupon for £5 off "Dr" Gillian McKeith Living Food Energy Powder (), WHICH SCANS AT TESCO!!!! (As tested by moi this afternoon).

In the mag, there's also £1.75 worth of NON-store specific vouchers (GardenLife mag, Cheerios and some yoghurt), and £9.45 (including the £5) of Sainsbury's vouchers.
I'm off to get some more of these magazines! :j

HTH

(I realise there was a thread on Sainsbury's mag on another board, but nobody has mentioned this particular voucher and I thought some of you guys might find it useful) :)

It's the June edition - should have made that clear, sorry! Second last page spread, where all the Sainsbury's vouchers are, and it's valid until 31 July! :j

Also, forgot to say that the same mag has a 2 for 1 National Trust voucher, which is quite handy, too (valid until end of June).

  • i tried the £5 voucher at asda and the checkout person would not accept it.

however i feel that she should have.

does anybody know where i can see a copy of the terms and conditions of asda taking other supermarkets vouchers?

It's up to the individual store AFAIK, they all make up their own policy. And the head office seems to make it up as they go along as well. If you look in the Somerfield voucher thread on this board, there's more info re: Asda accepting vouchers and the policy/policies of the week.

From what I've gathered on this board, Tesco and Asda stores who happily take other supermarkets' product vouchers (as opposed to the total spend ones) are in the minority, unfortunately. That's why my original post doesn't really apply to everyone, which is not fair I know. icon11.gif

They accepted the vouchers from the Sainsburys magazine on Friday in my local Tesco, even checked with the check out supervisor, today the girl just handed them back to me, didnt even bother to scan them.

So I've emailed Tesco to ask for their official policy

  • well i just thought i would try.

i will keep taking the vouchers in everytime i go and just see which they will take. i'm not too fussed about embarassment!

failing that i will take them to tescos.

what i would like is a printed copy of the terms and conditons on voucher acceptance for each supermarket. i would carry this with me and have grounds for dispute if needed.

i reckon that will be fun!

Must admit I use mine (rather fertively) on the self scan and so far it has taken all of these Sainsbury's vouchers. I used a few more last night.

I suspect that if you go over a certain percentage of the total bill then it flags it up to the self-scan 'supervisor' who has to authorise it manually. This happened to me a few weeks ago but so far with the Sainsbury's vouchers I've not had a problem (touch wood).
