Can I get a mortgage with a missed payment

hi there, I will keep this as short as possible. I have had a mortgage for 6 years and have never missed a payment Untill December 2013. I missed 2 payments in December 13 and Jan 14 due to loosing my job. I got a new job and have been paying perfectly for the past 13 months. The complications arise in the fact that the two missed payments equalled £1500 and I payed the debt back over 6 months on top of my usual payments..... So on my credit report it showed arrears until July14 so I only show 7 months of non arrears. I am under offer on my place and have offered on another but I am now scared I won't be accepted for a mortgage. I have 25% deposit so LTV of 75% and I am nowhere near borrowing my max allowance so I am well in on affordability. My experian also have my credit score in excellent at 985. Will the arrears showing up until July of last year scupper any chance of getting a mortgage event though I have paid fine for 12 months? Please do let me know if you have any thoughts. Btw I am also using a broker but I thought on here I may get real comments.

Has your broker not already advised on this?

Two missed payments you may now just get away with, depending on the lender (there will be a slim list of suitors).

What's to say that you won't end up in the same situation again? That's the question that lenders will ponder and potentially make them nervous given that a matter of months later you wish to increase your borrowings further.

What was your brokers view? They are based placed to find a lender that may accept your credit history.

Ignore your Experian score. Lenders will score and profile you themselves using their own criteria.
