  • hiya, just checking out the ikea wardrobes. has anyone bought the aneboda or austmarka range? they seem very cheap, just wondering about the quality? tia

Have you seen them in real life? The aneboda has plastic panels. The panels are made from white corrugated plastic. They are semi see through so if you put a dark coloured piece of clothing in you would be able to see the outline. You could overcome this by putting some wallpaper or fablon on the inside of the door. If you look at the picture on the website they gave only put light coloured clothes in.

The plastic panel itself marks easily. If you accidently knock it it becomes a much darker white. Sort of like when you Bend a piece of plastic, the crease turns white. Hope this makes sense. So not ideal for children's rooms as would look scratched very soon. If I was to have it in my room I would coat the plastic panel with some nice looking fablon (sticky back plastic) or even plain white if you prefer, available cheap in homebase. This would stop any bashes to the plastic being visible, might coordinate better, make it more individual and stop you from being able to see the outlines of what is in the wardrobes.

No idea about the other range.

Morning Zag :) morning all. Looking out the window all I can see is grey grey grey!

Typical that yesterday when I was feeling poop the weather was gorgeous!

Same on this side of town. Hope you're feeling better now. Speaking of poop - time to take the dog for his morning doggy duties. Sounds windy so I better wrap up.:(

Anyone done a BNI shop today and can say it's working still. Dodo out in the field and can't find anything when she searches back.

    Cheers.

Some nice fabric also works as a cover for the panel.

    Which ikea are you near?

thank you, I have not seen them but thought it was a very good price for a wardrobe. I like the idea of fablon on the middle panel as this would look fab in the kids room. thank you for your info, looks like a trip to ikea is on the cards!
