Have any fellow glasses wearers had problems with passport renewal before?
I've just had a letter saying my new passport photos (the first ones I've ever been relatively happy with) aren't correct. You can see my full eyeball. There's maybe a teeny bit of a reflection at the bottom of the lens but it's so minimal. I'm furious. Looks like I'm going to have to pay to get them done again (I know you can faff around and do them cheaply yourself) and remove my glasses altogether. Even though I can't see without them and don't wear contacts.
I'm just so so angry. Also made the mistake of including my middle name on this application and now they are asking for proof that I changed my name
Regarding your photos - Everyone has to remove their glasses now. It is all about 'reading' your eyes.
Reflection is a big no no - sorry
You can go through a SS at Customs where it focuses on your eyes & checks they marry up to your passport, that you have placed on pad
Part of my job is the Passport Check and Sendany questions I can help

Wetherspoons have a form for an ID card.
Provisional licence is £43 now
Local Cambrian Rail Card is £5 & has photo on itI didn't know Timpsons did them for free if they got rejected. What a good idea. Thank you.
I'm still quietly seething and my mouth is still massively sore from yesterday. A proper grump today! I think the thing that's annoyed me the most is my makeup and hair was quite nice for these photos because I had some help with it. I always hate pictures of myself and have loathed every passport photo. For once I think 'ah you look alright' and its rejected
I also really dislike removing my glasses as I don't like my face without them. I guess I kind of hide behind them in a way. There isn't a single picture of me without glasses, aside from when I was a little girl. Funny the things that upset you. It's such a little unimportant thingYou & many others I'm sorry.
When I look at the old passport photos of ones I'm renewing - the things you could do then :rotfl::rotfl:
