DD1 has been going out with her boyfriend for a year tomorrow and hasn't got much money to get him a pressie so I suggested some promise cheques to print off. Have searched but can't find any. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? (Just fun ones or lightly romantic as she's only 17!) :beer:0

there is a new MSE article that is worth reading
Couples now able to register to shift unused tax allowance between spouses
basically it seems to say if there are 2 of you, your OH is not on high rate 40% tax and earn less than the £10,600 - ie low wage and part time hours etc - you can register now even though it does not come in until April.
its a tax break whereby you can shift some of your tax allowance - not a huge amount but at least its something.
mind you it will probably be wiped out by the next round of rent and rates increases, water rates increases and petrol going back up ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. this sounds fun - what about organising an indoor picnic for them - all the fun without the muddy fields, ants and getting rained on“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Sounds like one of those things that look good but not that many people benefit from. Max benefit would be shifting £1,600 of tax allowance. At 20% tax that is £320 saving.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
