Apologies if this is in the wrong section, maybe it's more suited to the praise and vent forum.

Has anyone noticed the new Sunny Loans TV adverts - ignoring the fact they're really slimy, implying that a loan with insane APR is helping people succeed in life - they don't include any information regarding the cost of the loan or APR of almost 1300%!

Isn't this the 3rd time now (once in 2012, then again in 2014) they've done this? I've stuck in a complaint to the ASA seen as it only takes about 30 seconds... but really, these guys should just be banned from broadcast advertising

Unfortunately it's impossible to legislate against the idiots who fall for this advertising. If it wasn't Sunny, they would still find somewhere to borrow money at rates they cannot afford.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

yeah noticed that myself that it didnt mention the APR anywhere
  • Noticed it too. It's so blatant and laughing in the face of ASA and people who understand basic maths.

At least I suppose the FCA daily caps are something....

Still complained though since it does indeed take less than a minute!

Ironic really as no-one minds energy co's and the like with their sky high billing... oh and making it difficult to pay.. unfortunately no one seems in any great hurry to listen to the occasional serious complaint which could and is partly why people may need the service the likes of Sunny provide, I'm glad the 'rich US daddy' hasn't packed up! borrowed £100 to get out of a hole and the next day was made better, my heating went on which contributed to a chest infection, shall repay £179 over quite a long term, unless of course I extend the term or pay back early depending on circumstances while I've not needed another loan

Don't let the truth interfere with your ignorance, at the moment there are bigger sharks out there if you don't mind
