Help getting a Mortgage

Can anyone help my wife is a carer for adults with learning disabilities who live in our rented house and because of this we had to sell our smaller house but we have now found a house to buy, but can't get a mortgage as she is given an allowance not a wage even though it is through our local council and I work full time in the royal mint. We have got 2 or 3 marks on our file which are settled and due off in the summer. But it seems most lenders won't take my wife's money into consideration. HELP

  • Do you get staff discount on products at work? (sorry, I couldn't help myself)

Surely the carer's allowance would count as an income, in the same way that tax credits do.
    I can't add up.
