Loan/debt chasers and non-existing debt

Options
For the past few weeks my email has been getting bombarded by debt chasers from eCashwindow.

4 years ago I had a loan from EPDL, which was paid eventually in full and settled. Never heard anything back from them since 2011. So it is with some surprise that I'm now getting pestered for this.

I replied to them that I had no debt what-so-ever with any company and asked them nicely to stop spamming my email. Their reply was please phone us and yes you have debt. I didn't phone but sent them a screen shot of the settled in full credit report for EPDL showing the date it was settled (after the date they claim it was defaulted).

They still insist I am due them money and continue bombarding me.

What can I do now?:mad::mad:

    If it is just email then I would simply ignore the emails and add them to a blocked sender list.

    If they write to you by post then I would send them a copy of the prove it letter template.

    You may also want to check your credit files to see if this account appears on your file, and whether it incorrectly shows any outstanding debt.

  • Checked my credit files and all show that this account was fully satisfied and paid back on time. They are unwilling to go into details about anything. So for now im just gonna leave it. The account on my credit file shows all well and good. But I will keep a close eye on it :)

    And thanks

    Prove it to adapt if required.

    --> Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter

    If you should write or email again, I would make sure you stress that:

    - you are making a formal compliant against them.
    - you require a copy of their complaints procedure
    - you will be reporting them to the FCA
    - you will be taking the matter to the FOS if they refuse to accept that this has been paid or was never owed.
