I need a washing machine for my flat as I currently don't have one. I am working within a budget so have to keep it around £250 or less. As a single guy I will just be doing light loads of underwear and clothes. Also, anyone doing special offers like free flights etc lol.

Good brand?
Bosch Maxx WAE24063GB

Our Bosch has lasted over 13 years without any faults so would definately recommend the above poster's suggestion.0

I've had a Bosch for the last 7 years so would also recommend. WE use Which for all our research (and did so when we bought ours). The Bosch range is still coming up as a "Best Buy".
Wouldn't buy a Hotpoint as they merged with Candy some years back and subsequently are using more budget materials.
Edit: forgot to mention that I'd also recommend AO online as in Cisco001's post. I've bought a couple of things from them and they're good with deliveries etc.0 -
When my 4 year old Bosch Excel broke down in December I decided to replace rather than repair as I'd never been overly happy with it. I went for this Whirlpool machine:

It has a 9kg drum and so far I'm loving it.
I ordered from AO.com and had one small niggle. It comes with free delivery, but I was charged £10. When I phoned to query it I was told that as I'd ordered after 8 pm I was charged £10. I would have preferred to wait until the following day and have free delivery but this wasn't an option.0 -
I have a Bosch, it's now 10 years old and seems to still be working fine. My mother had a Bosch, it needed to be replaced 20 years later and she replaced it with a Hotpoint. The Hotpoint was so noisy and vibrated so much the TV a good 15 feet away in another room could not be heard even right next to it because the washing machine was so noisy! It lasted about 3-4 years. She's now gone back to get another Bosch and I doubt will ever buy anything from Hotpoint again- cheap but for a reason!
If you can get to a library you can look back through old Which? guides which will point out good and bad brands/machines to keep an eye out for. I used the guides to choose my washing machine, fridge and iron. All are still going strong (touch wood!) and if I need to purchase something else I wont hesitate to look through the guides again.0 -
I am also looking for a washing machine for one person for under £250. I want a spin speed of at least 1200 but the load capacity doesn't matter.
Also I am rarely in until 3pm onwards so I would like a delivery after this time. Can anyone recommend a shop which will deliver at this time onwards?0 -
