Helping son after mental illness

Hi my son has been suffering with mental illness for several years and is recovering now. During this time he has not worked, claimed intermittent benefits and got into debt. In the first instance he has accepted my help to help him move forward with addressing the debt issues and making a claim for benefits to get him back into work. However the first thing we needed to do was get a copy of his credit report. We went onto Noodle as its free but they ask for bank card details to help identify him, but he does not have a back account, or if he does its so old he doesn't use it or have any details. How does he get a copy of his credit report without this sort of information so we can help him asses the extent of his situation? Thanks

Mmm interesting, I don't recall them asking this, but the did do something to get the security check. Wonder what the £2 credit check people do?
Maybe worth contacting National Debtline, or use the sticky on the front page of DFW threads to ask a debt advisor a question.
Hope son is doing ok now, and don't forget to download the mental illness and debt help guide from the MSE site.Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
