Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey

Hi

A number of supermarkets are currently doing good offers on Jack Daniels Honey bourbon as well as a number of other brands of 'honey' bourbon such as Jim Beam.

Has anyone tried any of these honey flavoured bourbons and if so are they worth the money? Can anyone advise as to what mixer you use with them.

Thanks
Val :)

I tried it a Christmas. It was so sickly sweet. Like seriously sweet. It smells really nice but I think the taste is one of those love it or hate it flavours.

    I had it with coke.
  • Bushmills do a honey flavour too but have never tried it.
I think Ginger Ale would make a good mixer ,just depends how sweet you like it.
  • Are we back on the waxy petrol thread?

  • _pale_ Boke!!!!!
  • My OH loves it.

According to him, the only thing to put in it is ice ... or another measure of JD!

Is it safe to drive in the morning if one puts this on their toast?

The JD honey one is very sweet. If someone actually likes and drinks bourbon, they won't touch it. If they don't like bourbon, it might be a nice introduction...
Bushmills one with honey actually tastes like whiskey, with a slight taste of honey.
Bee's Endeavour beer is very nice.
    I like booze and honey....
  • The honey JD is not great. It's technically a honey liqueur (check the small print on the bottle!), rather than any kind of bourbon. I found it more drinkable if it was chilled (i.e. pour it from the fridge rather than just add ice). Don't think I'd buy it again.
