I wanna buy a pair of comfy smart shoes

Started a new job today which involves a bit of a walk to the office. Currently wear a pair of Clarks smart shoe with a small heel but my feet are so sore today, I feel like I've walked on glass

The shoes are normally comfortable  but wondered if anyone can recommend some comfy, smart shoe which feel like a pair of sleepers :D

Price not an issue but did wonder about using the 'gel' pads you can get for sore feet - not sure how good they are.

Thanks

Tried the gelpads and they are okay but personally do not find them a good option for everyday use
If you can afford it have a look at ecco shoes---i wore these when i was on my feet all day in the hospital and they were great

Why not wear trainers and change into office shoes when you get there? Very popular solution in New York and London.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

I would wear Crocs to walk to work then get changed. I heart my Crocs.

I agree ecco shoes are good - i used to have a pair for work.

I wear Hush Puppies to work, they are so light and comfy i can feel them yet have a 'substatial' sole so i don't get foot ache. They also last really well. I spend about 8 hrs a day at work all of them pretty active and hard on the feet. My last pair lasted nearly 2.5 years of being worn 5 days a week which is pretty impressive. I work outside so spend a lot of my time in rain, mud and diesel puddles and they've survived it all.

Not sure of retailers?? The pair I got Monday came from Brantano and were about £50 quid. There i quite a few styles in my local one, from clumpy ol' things to more office shoes.

(i find those gel insole things a pain-in-the-bloody-@!!!! as they never stay in the centre of my shoe)
I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler

The Footglove range at Marks and Spencer is very comfy! Some of the High Street chains do their own cheaper versions, too.
