coffee pods

Hello, my daughter bought us a Nescafe coffee maker at Xmas. It uses the dolce gusto pods. Can you interchange with other makes eg tassimo? Also any own brand such as you might find in aldi or lidl. My husbands favs are the Americano and the Cappucino so would be nice to be getting the best of these. Many thanks

  • Like printer companies, they make their money on the peripherals. The standard best deal is to use their own email that they'll send you, offering a price of around £3.60-ish, I seem to remember from the lot I bought last month, and they usually chuck in a 'free' box of straight black coffee pods and do free delivery, if you want to buy multiple boxes at the same time (storage of the beggars is the main issue!). I usually go for this and do a joint purchase with my son, who also has a machine, that way we get a bit off the money, don't have to store loads each, and he gets to choose the 'online only' varieties that he likes. Other than that, mysupermarket is showing that Asda are doing the best deal at the moment, three boxes for a tenner.

I haven't found any other generic ones that work in the machines - they're all specific to the machine, I think, for the very reason that that's where the money is to be made. Let me know if you find any though!

thank you for this, Asda is certainly cheaper than Tesco where I have just paid £3.46.
My husband is the coffee drinker he likes the cappuccino and the Americano. There certainly is lots of choice including some weird ones, are there any other good choices over and above the two we like?
