Transfer of equity problem

Hello,
I bought a house with my ex and when we separated 6 years ago I stayed in the home and continued paying the mortgage myself. Two years ago I had a letter from my ex's solicitor asking me to buy her out of the house, I accepted the amount asked for, signed the document and returned to the Solicitor. I have paid the total within the time frame asked and have proof of payments.
I'm looking to remortgage now as my circumstances at the time weren't great.. unfortunately my ex refuses to sign the transfer of equity. I'm hoping somebody can help answer if the document I have from the Solicitor will stand in court and/or are there any other ways around remortgaging the home? I would really appreciate some advice as the situation is getting a little stressful. Many thanks in advance.

What precisely did you sign?
Did the solicitor provide you with a letter of confirmation?0 -
Hello, thank you for your reply. I Signed an agreement in which states the value of the property at the time and the agreed amount for settlement. It basically says -
'Our client sets out the following proposal as the basis for settlement' then the amount agreed. It then goes on to say 'to transfer her interest in the property into your sole name'0 -
Sorry forgot to say no I haven't had a letter of confirmation, I just have a draught copy of the document0
