What Can I Do??

First of all YOU'RE NOT A FAT UGLY PERSON so stop that right now! You obviously have a boyfriend who loves you very much so you can't be ugly now can you?
Fat... hey I'm harly a Kate Moss and I have lost a fair amount of weight (mainly thanks to coming of the Depo injections which caused me to pile over 2 stone on... TWICE! (Doc didn't believe me the second time that it was what had made it pile on the first time - second time I present him with a full eating diary and he could see the weight gain him self!)) so it can be done. I'm guessing from what you're saying that your weight gain is partly medical if not all medical? Is there anything the docs can do to help you with controlling this?
Funnily enough it was Depo that seemed to trigger all my problems .. I had 1 injection when i turned 18 and havent had a period since (8 yrs now) ... i suffered from major stomach pains for months (they even removed my appendix in case that was the problem) but it still persisted and meanwhile I gained over 7st in less than 6mths. I've been on a vast range of medication since that the doctors hope will bring my periods back but unfortunately the majority of them have side effects of weight gain. I've been on a permanent diet ever since but nothing ever seems to work and ppl that meet me just assume that i must be a compulsive overeater. The one upside at the moment is that since increasing the dosage of one of my tablets recently I've managed to lose half a stone
In addition to any help the docs can give you then dieting is obviously a way forward - you're already doing soups as you say from Costco (dangerous place btw... I ALWAYS buy stuff I didn't intend to... grrrr)
I dont trust myself in there so i go with nothing on me but my membership card and the approximate amount of money that i need!
Much better for you and cheaper is home made soups... get over to the OS board and look up some of the recipes and keep an eye on portion control - this is where I fall down all the time *sigh* I think it tastes to darned good and then I just HAVE to finish it! DOH!
thanx, will have a search for some recipes ... worth a try even tho my cooking skills leave a lot to be desired (am great at making toast tho!!)
If you want a diet buddy then let me know... I have a wedding dress I want to fit into for May next year and I could do with motivation
And I have a bunch of soup recipies
As for the finances... IT CAN BE DONE! but don't forget to look at keeping your spirits up
Thanx for taking the time to post ... as for being my diet buddy ... that'd be great thanx

Will it help you to earn more once you are finished? Also you mention a possible pay rise soon, so that is 2 positive things ahead of you. Hopefully it'll give me the scope toget a better job as it will show that i didnt just stop bothering to learn at gcse level, also its been relevant to what the rest of my team currently do so there should be scope to go for a job like theirs
In the meantime, use the excellent advice on here to cut back on your spending. Do not feel ugly becausw of your weight. Think of all the overweight people you know who are really confident and happy with themselves (Dawn French is an obvious example). There is nothing to stop you being like them. People are not obsessed with what you look like, personality is more important to most people.
I would consider talking to your family. Why would you be dragging them down? That is what families are for. I suspect that once you take control of your finances you will feel more positive about all the other areas of your life, including your weight.
I just dont wanna talk to my family about it as they have enough to worry about with me being in the equation (mum has history of depression and has medical problems of her own whilst dad had cancer recently and been in and out of hospital for a year, my sister has 2 little ones to be worrying about etc)

Hello!
It sounds as though you are making some big changes, so well done!! Have you had any luck calling your creditors and renegotiating payments?
With regards to the above. If you dont feel as though you cant talk to your family, then you need to find someone to talk to - as bottling it up wont help, how about a friend? Or perhaps one member of your family? A cousin perhaps? Otherwise, people on here will listen if you need to talk, but the worst thing you can do is keep it to yourself.
