Nationwide Mortgage

Hi All,

Can someone advise on the below?

I am currently in the process of getting a Mortgage with my husband with Nationwide. The application Principle has been sent off and we have been asked to send documentation ie - last 3 mths bank statements, wage slips etc.

Does this mean that the Application/Mortgage principle has been approved as they have requested these documents and if so how long does it usually take to get an answer?

No, it probably means the DIP result was a "refer."

Docs like those are usually only required at full application.

If they are asking for these items before they will give you a decision, it's because there wasn't an accept at DIP.

  • Hi, thanks for the reply.

We are using a financial advisor and he requested for a list of requirements for the underwriters to review the application. He submitted the agreement in principle to Nationwide who advised that they will consider the application once they have the requested documents.

    This makes sense then :)

The question is how long does it take until we can get an answer?

    Supply documents.

They are uploaded to case by broker.

Upto 48 hours to be checked and accepted.

    Another day for a decision.

Our last referral took about four days, IIRC.

  • Thats great thank you :)

They also requested that the Gifted Application was filled out and sent to them, however they didnt request this when they 1st asked for the other docs.

We have equity in our house that we will be putting down plus a gifted deposit.

This is why i asked the question whether they had accepted the DIP!
