Removing Second Charge on property

Hi - I will be paying off a loan secured against my property and wondered if I needed to instruct a solicitor to remove the second charge. I will still have a mortgage and they are the first charge. Not sure if I need to lodge something with them, or whether land registry will do the trick.
Does anyone know???
Thanks in advance.

The lender for the secured loan should action the removal of their charge.0

As Thrugelmir states the lender will normally apply to have their registered legal charge removed from the register
The first chargee would not be notified of the change to the register as part of that process.“Official Company Representative
