Pros and cons of mortgage change

I have to wonder if the mortgage adviser can customise the offer irrespective of offers in the shop window.
Why not.0 -
Mortgage advisers (or lenders) can't customise or make one off offers to customers.
A lot of work goes into ensuring that a mortgage product has the correct KFIs, calculations, features and benefits. Lenders will not redesign a whole IT system to cope with just a one off.0 -

Why not.
Because they don't the authority. A Lenders policy is set at executive board level downwards.0 -
Been to see current mortgage provider today.
Been offered 2.8% fixed for 5 years.
No charges whatsoever.
And I'm reducing the term by 1 year 9 months down to 12 years for a monthly cost of just £2 more than my current monthly payment.
If I find that we've got spare money I can reduce the term again during the 5 year period
And very little paperwork involved.
Seems like a good deal to me.0
