Hi All,
Just found this site (well i've been on here before but not registered) and I'm finally determined to get myself out of debt. Like most people have their lightbulb momnets - I've just had mine. I've realised how easy it is just to keep adding to your debt and how it's such a burden so I'm going to do something about it!
I've worked myself out a little plan and could be debt free in 18 months (maxium) if I stick to it.
I'm self employed so my earning potential is 'endless' in a way so i'm going to really go for it...not only will it help me be debt free but it'll also give my business a good kick up the a*se!!
Now I've booked myself a holiday for October 2008 for the Maldives (had an excellent deal and only had to put down £30 deposit) - I know a lot of you maybe tutting at this but i've budgeted in my plan to put the money aside each month for this holiday and also money for savings to go get clothes etc.
SOOOO my maldives holiday is my reward for getting out of debt I've a date to aim for and I'm going to go for it!!!
SO hope I can join in here and make some friends and find out some fab tips!

Well I've paid the £30 (from my wages not on credit) and I don't have to pay until 8 weeks before i go so if I don't get rid of at least 85% of my debt I'm going to cut myself off and not go!! that way it'll give me something to work for an make myself be strict.
Will post my SOA!!!

Sounds like a good incentive to earn lots of money and pay off your debt! It's really useful to have a definable goal in front of you. Mine is my dream house, a picture of which I carry in my purse and cheque book to remind me not to buy things I don't need.
