What does it mean if my mortgage application has been underwritten?

Hi there

I'm a FTB, and I'm just seeking clarification of what it means if my mortgage application has been underwritten?

My broker confirmed this today.

Many thanks in advance

All mortgage applications are signed off by an underwriter. If this is the case an offer should be on the way.

    Thanks for a superquick reply

Do you know if the lender will ask further questions regarding the info submitted at application once the mortgage is underwritten, or do questions after underwriting relate to the valuation mainly?

    It's done after the valuation.

The underwriter ultimately decides if the lender are going to lend you the money.
