Full and Final - should I offer independent

Hi
My DF and I have a joint account, I have very little money but he has some, the OD is at 2200 and they keep ringing but he says we should offer 50% as full and final - so 1100, and then close the account as he doesn't want the credit score wrecked.
I'm not sure which percentage I should offer as a start or whether I should indeed other it?
