Overdraft debt passed on to Wescot

Hi everyone,
A year ago I opened an account with Santander, I had 250£ overdraft limit, and failed to repay it after I switched to lloyds tab. I have been in an out of country as I was receiving a medical treatment back at home in EU, and compleatly forgot about the account. Today I got a text from Wiscot asking to call them regarding the debt collection that was passed on to them from Santander.
I read that people had bad experiences with them and I was wondering if it's worth just going to Santander and paying it off now?! Would they accept it?! I don't want to pay reductions fees to a debt collection agency?!
Thanks, any help is appreciated!

Hi,
There will be no other fees to pay, DCA`s are not allowed to charge fees, unless the original contract stipulated they could, most contracts dont allow this.
You can pay the bank or the DCA, it makes no difference, unless the DCA has bought the debt outright, they they may settle for less, if they are just acting on behalf of the bank, it will still be £250.
Only way to find out is if they write to you, or you can ask the bank.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. thanks so much for your reply, I am still a bit scared to call the, I have never been in this situation and I don't really know what to expect.
I have changed several addresses and currently I am living with my bofriends family in their family house until I find a new place, so I don't want them coming here :S they will ask for an address in the UK, so I don't know what to do about that.0
