Ouch you poor thing, I hope you got it solved x

It's much better thanks; I couldn't afford the Blistex and know better than to use Vaseline more than once or twice in a row (I knew this before my post and regularly tell others on here about the evils of Vaseline so I have no one to blame but myself!).

I don't eat honey so was wary of buying a huge pot to sit unused for years (I hope this doesn't happen again!) I had no option than to leave my lips alone- try not to pick the blackheads (it was too painful and I wasn't getting anywhere either) and my lips are a lot less cracked.

One spot has gone, another few don't feel so horrible/bumpy -it does seem easier to not pick them once I've gotten past the first few days and I think maybe they're not as noticeable if I don't pick at them!

Sainsburys currently have blistex for £1.50. I've stocked up!

Salicylic acid that somebody mentioned earlier in the thread works perfectly TS. It is very effective.

;) (said a few times hence the wink...) It may not be suitable for cracked lips which was the initial reason for the Vaseline which caused the blackheads...

Saw it for half price in Superdrug too at the moment, think it's around £1.25 but on offer not normal price.

Witch hazel cream (not gel - no use on cracked or broken skin) may be helpful as well.

Well I thought I'd update in case anyone was interested, because what I had thought was a bit of chapped skin outside my lip-line I think has turned out to be something else and I will have to see a Doctor about this if I want to get it sorted.

My chapped skin issue seems to have spread...to the entire lower part of my face- it stings to apply even a basic moisturiser at the moment. My veeery pale dead-look (not by choice!) has now turned into a raw-looking skin tone with white dry flakey skin and it feels as sore as it looks :/

I've tried a few different creams, everything hurts to apply. I tried just sitting with the pain, thinking maybe it's a case of getting used to it but I'm done with doing this now, it only seems to get worse. I had thought I had caused the overly dry chapped skin with a mixture of pound-shop (read: harsh) tissues and suffocating Vaseline but now the rest of my face seems to have followed suite I am doubtful I've caused it with products I've used. I think I've got some sort of a reaction to something -my forehead is fine! My mother recently adopted a stray cat which turned out to have a skin condition and I'm wondering if it's anything to do with that. The last stray she adopted (she's done it before!) resulted in me getting a skin condition on my hands- turns out that cat had a skin condition according to the cat shelter it came from.

Blackheads have now all stopped forming, I managed to not pick but they still look like blobs on my lip-line, all-be-it non bumpy blobs.

Thanks for your help everyone. I hope I can get some sort of medication to help at least with the stinging because I have very dry skin and avoiding all products really isn't much more comfortable!
