Really confused about Tesco points...

I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious here, but I keep reading that 1500 Tesco clubcard points is worth £60, and I can't figure out how. I was hoping that it meant £60 to spend in Tesco on your next shop, but is it actually only referring to £60 off at, say, London Zoo or one of the other Boost partners?
If someone has a link that explains the basics of Tesco clubcard I'd be grateful - I've read through their FAQs and read Martin's "Loyalty Scheme Tricks" page (can't post a link as I'm new) but I'm still not getting it. Martin says, "Trade in normal vouchers for Tesco's special Clubcard Boost tokens and each £10 voucher becomes worth up to £40..."
I think it's the difference between points, vouchers and tokens that's confusing me - all I've managed to understand so far is that the points are essentially worthless in themselves, the vouchers are a little better value, and the tokens are the best value.
Sorry to be so obtuse - I'm sure it's simple as so many people manage to use it, and I'm just not joining the dots properly... Any help gratefully received!

if you have a look round
http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/
you can see what you can exchange your points for.
1,500 points are worth £15 if you just use them on your day-to-day Tesco shopping, but can be worth up to £60 if you exchange them for some of the offers on the above site0 -
With Nectar & Boots Advantage - you can literally 'spend your points' with Tesco CC you can't!
You accumulate your points, and every 3 months they get converted into vouchers - subject to a minimum of 150 points (+ £1.50).
Vouchers have a life of two years (valid until --/--/----) - they can be used at face value in Tesco, doubled-up in Tesco - when there is a Boost promotion on, or converted into 'Deals' Tokens for Tesco Boost Partners - from 3 - to - 4 times face value - the Tokens usually have a life of 6 months.
It's all a matter of personal choice, whichever is best for yourself.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
