I'm glad this thread is here for moaning, because I've got to get this off my chest.
I sold a jigsaw about 10 days ago, and got glowing feedback for it.
However, today the buyer opened a not received case for the jigsaw..... and closed it a minute later!
It turns out her partner had received the jigsaw, unwrapped it and put it away and left feedback, all without telling the buyer
So she thinks she's not received it, opens the case, then the partner tells her they've got it.
To be fair, she was apologetic, but I've sent an educational email about the damage that cases opened in error can cause the seller....and blocked her, as I don't want to sell to her anymore!
Fortunately, I don't have any defects at the moment, but I'm waiting to see if an INR case open for a minute will cause a defectEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Fantastic thread whelp you feel like moaning :-)
A couple of weeks ago I've tried to use up my 100 free listings, so towards the midnight I was just firing them out with as little description as possible. One new top without tags I listed as 'gorgeous top' and that's it, completely forgot to edit it and somebody bought it within 2 days. The buyer is clearly a seller who buys to sell, as they have over 4.5K feedback with not a single sale.
What annoying is that they do not communicate at all and they don't leave feedback either. Over 250 items purchused in the last 6 months but not a single feedback left for over 90 days! Grr, very frustrating, as you just don't know if they're happy or do you have INAD hanging over you. Grrrr....0 -

Yes, a INR case open for a minute does cause a defect!
It's so frustrating, I did nothing wrong and yet I'm penalised due to buyer error

Have you tried asking EBay to remove the defect ? I know that very few are removed nowadays, but it might be worth a go"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -

Years ago feedback seemed to be a polite way to say thanks or vent at a bad sale, these days it makes little difference IMO. You'll most likely hear sooner than later if buyer has an issue, if not it must have been a good sale.
On my business account I always leave feedback for buyers as soon as they have paid, on the flip side I rarely leave feedback on my personal account.0 -

I did wonder about that, but a bit of Googling seemed to indicate that they wouldn't remove the defect if the buyer had closed the case.
Also, as it's currently my only defect, I thought it'd probably be more hassle than it was worth to make the effort to get it removed.
I'm just going to have to put up with it, and hope that I don't get any other defects.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Sold an item to France just over a month ago, positive feedback left , just logged in to paypal (which I hate doing when I am overseas) to find a paypal chargeback for unauthorised use of a card.
Am furious, buyer is in my danger zone ( feedback in the teens) and I can easily defend this with POP which is of course at home. I've emailed paypal telling them not to close this early and to allow me the full time for respnse and invoke my seller protection. I've also emailed buyer politely expressing my concern at her issues with someone having access to her paypal account, and I've reported buyer to eBay.
Whilst I will be in time to upload my POP assuming eBay allow the 10 days they say they will, it does rather put me off long holidays. If this has happened to someone at the start of a 2 week holiday they would have no way of defending themselves.
Very cross indeed and am considering throwing all my toys out of the pram and blocking France.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes, I hate it when I don't receive feedback too. Just because, when I buy stuff or sell stuff we no longer want, I expect the +feedback to grow. It would also soften the blow if anyone should ever leave a negative-fingers crossed that no one does.
Another moan from me today is that business is quiet today! Too quiet for my liking.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Arghhhh what is it about holidays, I go away for a week or so and just keep an eye on my eBay in case of issues. As well as the chargeback I have just now got a 'where is my item' from a Spanish buyer who bought 13 days ago. I rarely have problems yet buyers seem to wait until I go off and then find all sorts of issues.
I'm also worried about my chargeback, I think I've made a mistake and hoping it doesn't come back and bite me. I responded in the dispute centre telling paypal I have POP and will upload it later this week as I am currently away, and I think that has escalated the case as it now says waiting for paypal to review. I think I should have left it, banked on the fact I have a few days left to provide proof, and just waited until I got home and uploaded the POP.
I would also welcome people's thoughts about feedback. In the case of my chargeback positive feedback has been left by both of us. As I'm really feeling aggrieved by this I am tempted to follow up my feedback by saying something like 'sorry to hear your paypal account has been hacked hope it gets sorted'. Is that petty, stupid or just pointless? I'm hoping I can warn other sellers in case she does this a lot, but obviously want to be polite and give her the benefit of the doubt .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Only advice I would give is sleep on it and see how you feel tomorrow. I am always doing things in haste and regretting it later. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0
