Item on £120. Message in the last half hour of auction from a buyer. Will I take X item in trade which is worth £60 and £40 for my item.
Let me work that out. £60 + £40 = £100. Item already on £120.
I'm afraid I wasn't my usual sparkling self and just replied with 'no' and immediately blocked them.0 -
As mainly a buyer a question to you sellers.
As a reasonable volume business seller if you decide to send via a trackable service why do you not upload the tracking number so I know when to expect delivery ? :mad:0 -

If you read the posts on here, some business sellers are happy to take your money but refuse to do anything too strenuous like answering questions and providing tracking numbers.
Since becoming a business seller myself, I have tried to buy from smaller business sellers. You may have to pay 20p or so more but the service is far better. I go out of my way to make my customers happy and find most smaller sellers do the same.
Also a lot of couriers websites allow you to download customer data and upload tracking to Ebay so there really is no excuse.0 -
I swear people lately on ebay have become utter morons, aside from sending joke offers, they buy clothes, (when the label says its the size you give them measurements) they somehow expect clothes to be able to accommodate a size that is 3 times that of the original article, they then lie, say its got cigarette holes when the items belonged to a non smoker from a non smoking household. -_- then they don't read the description, and then leave negative feedback! o.O
Irony being they actually got the items on offer for a low price, but then the kicker? said items then appear by the same seller (with the same pic) on ebay! -_- then the member in question blocks me -_- good grief...
anyway, rant over
Hopefully ebay will improve soon ^_^"No one can change the past. The only thing we can do is strive to make up for our mistakes. Why must we make up for our mistakes, you ask? Because in so doing...we can find the way back to our path. And once we've found our path we can move on from our past mistakes toward a brighter future"

I'm not a business seller but I've done this on the two big items I have sold. It seems like it would be a very simple and helpful thing to do.
I like seeing my deliveries reach their destinations personally, I'm sure the buyer likes knowing where their parcel is at each stage too. Although I am waiting for DPD to deliver something today and it still appears to be in Birmingham and I am across the Irish Sea waiting patiently.
Amazon will lose the order if it isn't delivered today.0 -
I'd like to moan about some lovely buyer giving me a defect because her perception of a colour differed from that of the manufacturer.
Manufacturer calls it dark red. I list it as dark red (in heading, item specifics and description). Buyer calls it brown. Buyer complains. Full refund offered on return of item. Buyer refuses as "too much hassle" and leaves feedback voicing her opinion as well as a nice defect for "as described"..
Ebay refuse to remove it as it is "subjective" and "buyer's opinion".
Am I annoyed about this? Too right I am :mad:0 -
Why do I always get idiots that don't pay? I don't sell often but it doesn't inspire me to make it any more regular when I'm probably 50/50 on items successfully sold vs unpaid item disputes opened.
This person hasn't paid in a week. I sent them the automated payment reminder on about Thursday. Should I warn them that I'll have to open an unpaid item dispute against them if they don't pay soon or just open it?
Grr. Probably a change of mind (I've had the same in the past after bidding) but still paid for the item. It's called the correct and decent thing to do!0 -

I never warn buyers about opening an unpaid case- I send an invoice, then another one a couple of days later - then open an unpaid case. If the buyers feedback looks really good I tend to wait until about day 4 or 5, if they have little feedback or haven't left much feedback I open as early as day 2 or 3.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. One of them was straightforward, someone bid on the item with a minute or two left (PS4 @ £240 so not a bid that should be made on a whim) and as soon as the item ended they mailed and said 'Don t want it'. I feel it was part of a larger scam given interactions and the activities of new accounts in the bidding late on.
The other was a new account as well but they said they were going to pay, didn't, so I opened it as soon as the two day window was up.
Incidentally, I do love that ebay e-mailed me to say that if they do it again they 'might' warn them or put restrictions on the account. Nice policing there ebay, inspires me to use the site, thankfully I am almost at the end of my selling spree.0
