Has anyone joined this or been a member in the past? Is it worth it? They keep offering me a free trial and I am tempted ........
Is it any good or a waste of time and money? If anyone can give me some ideas I would be grateful. (if you don't want to post on here feel free to pm me)
Thanks

I don't see any point in paying for competitions you can find for free on mse and other sites.0

I agree, but the blurb that they sent me said that they have lots of exclusive comps. Fiction?0

Any comps around the web almost always end up on here! Why pay for something you can get for free? Between MSE, Loquax & HDUK there are PLENTY of comps to keep you going!dadsgoneshopping wrote: »I agree, but the blurb that they sent me said that they have lots of exclusive comps. Fiction?
They may be "Exclusive" at the time of print, but they'll end up on here! Thanks to all posters :A0 -

The "exclusive comps" are likely to be ones they run themselves and part of the fees will be paying for the prizes (by the looks of it £100+ a year fee if you have the monthly and mid monthly updates).
"limited membership to offer our members the best chance of winning". Anyone ever known it not to be available to buy?:rotfl:0 -
Obviously the style of it suits some people who maybe don't like/haven't seen the various free sites, simply prefer everything laid out for them (which includes a list of products with on pack promotions) or possibly just for the postal comps if they are not great internet users.0

I was until this moth a subsriber but have had to cancel it as I just can't afford the large outlay anymore. As a renewal offer I was offered a discounted rate of £48 for the year.
I never used it for web competitions as I use MSE for that and wouldn't want to duplicate myself however I did use it for postals/texts and purchase comps as they would list some purchase comps that were above the spending threshold permitted by mse. No doubt the majority of the postals and text comps are/were on here or ended up here eventually but it was helpful to have them listed in the way they were.
I will admit that I shared my subscription with my nan which the people at compers news were very against but my nan enjoys entering the postal comps and it was a way of getting her into the comping world. She's not very confident using MSE on her tablet.
Over the year of being a compers news member from their comps we won £25 asda vouchers, sennheiser headphones, £80 of Munchkin bath toys, a personalised halloween bucket for my son, a sour dough baking kit, some make up and some DVDs. So enough wins to cover our subscription fee but not massesYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I think it's far too expensive. I had it for a year (a trial subscription for me 3 for £3 and then the same for my hubby and then we let hubby's run for another 6 months), but I found I barely had time to read it as I was too busy keeping up with the comps on MSE. I did like the list of products to buy in the supermarket with comps on them (is there one of these on MSE?) although I could never find half the items in Sainsbury's. I also entered the free text comps listed too, but I never won on any of those that I entered with them! All the things I won were from listings on MSE or something a FB friend pointed me to!0
