mortgage ppi issues with halifax

Hi, I have recently discovered that on my halifax mortgage that i have mrc, we were unaware that we had this, this element is in my ex partners name, we seperated and we were not in a financial postion for only one name on the mortgage so we continued to pay the mortgage and all details stayed the same, as its his name on that part of the policey he had to put the claim in and they refuse to deal with me, we have just been sent an offer and a cheque but its £2000 short of what we are owed, the mortgage has been running for 9 years, are halifax a diffiult company to deal with? we are not accepting this offer!! Anyone dealt with Halifax, many thanks

Actually, Halifax are one of the easiest. They roll over very easily and auto payout on a lot of cases. With their TMPP plan, they typically auto refund the MPPI element (whilst most companies reject). However, they will not refund any life assurance, critical illness or income protection element of the policy. None of those are PPI though. Maybe your premium had those other bits as well and that is what you are getting mixed up with.
