It WILL affect your credit rating, but, as you say, this won't make it particularly worse. It may take some time to get Egg to agree to freezing the interest, and you may get a quicker result by going through CCCS or PAYPLAN.
Good Luck.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Your first step before contacting creditors is to find out exactly where all your money is going. Just for starters, you can consider whether you spend anything on socialising, clothes, work lunches, do you really only spend 110 on food?, any takeaways, buy any presents for birthdays or xmas, any holidays / weekends aways, any hobbies, and what about MOT / RAC/AA, any car repairs, any landline costs, internet, TV license. Its importatn to include all those yearly or one off costs..with these add them all up as best you can for the whole year and then divide by 12 to get a monthly sum and include that in your monthly budget.. you will need to save this sum so you can pay the bills when they arise rather than using credit.0
