Spent my TKMaxx voucher (at last!)

Normally, I love shopping in TKM so I was delighted to be given vouchers for Christmas from my sister in law. Typically, I couldn't find anything that I liked, not actually wanting to waste it on things I don't need. Anyway, this week I decided to revamp one of the spare bedrooms, something I have done several times since moving here four years ago but never been happy with. It is a smallish room and what I really wanted to do was to wallpaper it in Laura Ashley Summer Palace duck egg blue but I couldn't justify the expense, just for a guest room. Anyway, I decided to buy the duvet cover and curtains which have 25% off at the moment. Meanwhile I reserved/ordered lots of other items (not LA, e.g.sheets, pillow cases etc.) and went into town to collect them yesterday. I went into TKM, just for my usual look, and was delighted to find some bedding there. I bought a "clearance" single duvet cover and matching pillow case (will be my spare), some disigner pillow cases (can use elsewhere), fitted sheet and matching pillow cases, a lovely, dusty pink bath sheet and two hand towels and an Emma Bridgewater toilet bag (which I might give to my daughter for her birthday next month), all for less than the cost of the things I had reserved elsewhere. I left there loaded up but delighted not to have had to spend any actual money.

Just waiting now for my Summer Palace stuff to arrive and then I can get on with the revamp. Luckily, I never throw anything away and have a range of accessories that will go well with it all.
