The VM application contains a budget planner completed by the broker. You usually transfer the data from the affordability calculator completed before you submitted the application.

The application form records what was submitted.

Hence my question, "do you have a copy of the application?"

I find it surprising that there are brokers who don't provide a copy of the application as a matter of course. Within a few days of the application being submitted, we send a tracked email to every client copies of;-

signed terms of business
fact find
key facts illustration
application form
suitability letter

with a request they acknowledge receipt and confirm the information reflects their position and that they accept our recommendation. As it's a tracked reply, it saves back into the Key, so we can evidence issue and response.

It has been adopted by our network as the compliant process for use by all ARs.
