  • Having underwritten mortgage cases, I find it takes longer if a client attempts to label explain what's on bank statements.


    If there's one thing you think is really of note and they won't recognise it, stick a post-it note on with a note.

    Please don't. It will take them longer, and you'll probably get even more questions or a request for a clean set.

    is it a good idea to highlight all things going out (deposit, pension, holiday, car insurance, tax money) when i bring in 3 months statements (im s/e)

    I think it's probably not the first time the underwriters are going to have to look at bank statements to figure out if an application is sound or not...

    I would just give them the documents untouched, else it will create issues.
