How do transfer of equitys work?
A couple of years ago I tried to remove my ex's name off the mortgage and go on a better deal, I was denied as my ex partner has a charge against the house for £1500 for non payment of some purchase he had on credit.
If I was to pay this debt (there is no equity on the house and there is no way my ex will pay this) and get the charge removed, would the transfer of equity be as simple as them just agreeing?
I've been paying the mortgage in full on time for the last four years, I'm just about to have a baby so my income is going to drop dramatically and my current partner cant go on the mortgage with me as he already owns a house... So just wondering how a transfer of equtity works or if i should just sell up... i don't want this tie to him anymore...
