What is the longest shift you have ever done?

https://uk.answers.yahoo.com/questio...2195803AAlMd9t just reading this on yahoo answers and they are talking about the longest shifts they have done and they are mentioning 35-40 hours shifts so just wondering what is the longest shift you have ever done?

    Bizarre question to be asking, if you don't mind my saying.

    For what possible reason could you feel the need to be asking it?

    longest period of work without a day off was 5.5 Months 12 hours a day.

    Thats the military for you though - and no overtime !

  • Wow and I thought that one time I did a 17 hour shift was long ;) I also did a 14 hour shift and a few 12 hour shifts in the same 2 weeks (no day off); the joys of saving for a wedding :D

    48 hour shifts without sleep and longer but that was in the army and away on tour then left and joined the Prison service and did 12 hours shifts quite alot in there.
    But now on easy 8 hour shifts now

    Christ ..Would not want to fly in any aircraft that you had been working on after 48 hours work :D

    12 hours per day is my limit ..But I have done 12 shifts on the trot of 12 hour nights

    Without sleep probably 20hrs but sleeping on site and "on-call" a few days/nights.

    36 hours. It wasn't much fun, but I'd do it again if the same 'operational reasons' came up.

    Years ago, I regularly worked 12 hour shifts for a few days at a time. Don't do that now though...
    Debt 30k in 2008.:eek::o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free :)
    Mortgage free since 2014 :)
